EXISTENTIAL THREAT : Debut solo show by Sun One

Sun One invites you to ‘Existential Threat’, a debut show exploring the work and inner monologues of a restless artist in the age of algorhythms.

Spanning the past few years, Sun One has built a collection inspired by but not limited to; bio-diversity collapse, meditations on Hip Hop culture, protest in a surveillance state, being overwhelmed by information, and state endorsed tyranny.

Taking from a plethora of influences both local and abroad, and offering escapisms from a colonial patriarchy, sun one aims to explore difficult and confronting realities while maintaining a hope for our collective future.

Opening night will feature only the best artists and deejays Naarm has to offer, making use of the DIY space at SPIT and offering a raw, unforgettable mix of everything from Hip Hop to Hardcore.

MIZHAP is a turntablist making huge waves in 2026. Bringing back a raw edge of late 90’s early 2000’s mixmaster madness, and just off the back of supporting both Wu Tang Clan and Qbert earlier this year, Mizhap is guaranteed to make the decks revolve quicker and hotter than a ninja star whistling through the air.

DIDZ is an up and comer on the Melbourne Hip Hop scene and after doing many of the rounds at live gigs around Naarm, has finally dropped a PHAT E.P that took the scene by storm like it was supposed to. Raw and Rugged, headbangin, and fresh out of fucks to give. Like if ODB and Dirty Dyke had a nasty little child that kept drinking all their VB’s.

DJ INTEGRITY is a seasoned veteran in the club scene, and could maybe rub-a-dub himself out of just about any sticky-icky situation you could possibly conceive. Drawing from a rich tapestry of musical influences, and never knowing quite how to pin him down, Dj Integrity has spent many hazy afternoons digging for the sole purpose of keeping the dancefloor hot and sweaty.

REVENGE STORIES are a lethal mix of upfront hardcore with those booming headbang sections, plus a little bit of Glassjaw or early 90’s alt rock or something. A recently formed outift that is composed of local hardcore specialists. Expect a few fists and legs in the air, neck bulking season is now.

JOYNT VENTURE are like if you got three flies in a room and told them to argue with each other through a distortion pedal and Rihanna samples, but instead they arrived at a level of deep understanding and emotional intelligence.

RUKKUS is half way between a jet set radio universe and a goth rave under the bridge. He has officially achieved Unc status after running Skumbagz Soundsystem since mid 2000’s and more recently fathering Cmaine’s Hardcore soundsytem. If some people know their way around the tracks, rukkus is the fricken train. Never tell him to turn the music down.
