Bellingen Island Ecology Walk
Event description
Come join Bellingen Shire Council and local experts: Ross Macleay, Liz Brown, Tim Pearson and Chris Ormond for an educational walk to explore the beautiful subtropical lowland rainforest, riparian restoration project and flying fox colony.
You'll learn all about the native vegetation, the history of the island, the behavior of the flying foxes and the hard work that is occurring to protect this beautiful place.
This is a free event on Saturday 1st of November from 9am-11am.
We will be meeting at the Point carpark and walking into the core remnant section of the rainforest and returning back to the point. Light morning tea will be provided on finishing the walk.
It is recommended that you wear long pants, closed in footwear and a hat. Bring sun protection, insect repellent if you wear it, binoculars if you have them and a readiness to adventure!
