EXPLORE THE LEATHERWOOD BUS TOUR
After the success of last years leatherwood bus tour we have decided to make the tour an annual event to continue the work of the late Bob Davey, the founder of Save Your Leatherwood. The explore the leatherwood bus tour aims to raise awareness about the importance of Leatherwood trees to beekeepers whilst giving you an up close and personal experience in the forests and beehives in this remote wilderness area and of course to taste the unique Tasmanian Leatherwood honey. This tour is open to everyone but does include a visit to beehives and you are required to wear your own protective equipment. A part of this tour is also a guided walk through parts of leatherwood forests.
When: Saturday the 15th of January
Time: 7.45 for an 8.00 am departure
Where: the Mystate Arena car park, Glenorchy
Return: 5.30pm at the Mystate Arena
Cost: $35.00 Adult and $25.00 a child 8-17 years
You will need to bring:
• Your own Bee suit/bee jacket (you are unable to participate in the beehive experience without suitable protection). * limited suits are available to hire but prior arrangements need to be made with organisers.
• Sturdy shoes and appropriate clothing for exploring the leatherwood forests.
• A packed lunch, snacks and your non alcoholic beverages.
• This is an all age event, children under 15 years old must have adult supervision.
