Exploring Ako | Six Steps to Success – Commencing June 2025
Event description
This workshop, and series of elective sessions, will provide kaiako (educators) with an opportunity to access a fresh new resource to guide them in aligning their teaching practices with proven strategies for ākonga (learner) success.
Participants are welcome to attend any combination of overview and elective workshops. Attending the overview workshop first will assist in choosing from the following electives, but is not required:
- Introductory Overview |12 June 2025, 12.00pm – 2.00pm
- Knowing your ākonga | 26 June 2025, 12.00pm – 1.00pm
- Knowing relevant practices | 17 July 2025, 12.00pm – 1.00pm
- Interpersonal relationships | 31 July 2025, 12.00pm – 1.00pm
- Reflecting on active experience | 14 August 2025, 12.00pm – 1.00pm
- Constructive alignment | 28 August 2025, 12.00pm – 1.00pm
- Expectations, challenges and motivations | 11 September 2025, 12.00pm – 1.00pm
You can register for each of the workshops individually.
There will be opportunities to reflect on successful practices in relation to your own teaching contexts, share
successes with others and motivate each other to implement new strategies. Participants will be encouraged
to participate in a Community of Practice to support further implementation of the six principles.
Billing information
We accept payments by card or by invoice. At checkout you will be able to choose your payment option. Invoices are raised by Massey University on behalf of Ako Aotearoa so please note that there will be a delay between registering for the event and receiving the invoice.
PLEASE NOTE: Invoices are limited to payment from registered tertiary organisations only
If you would like to pay by invoice, before registering, please find out from your finance team:
- the billing address and the email address you would like the invoice sent to.
- whether or not you require a purchase number, if a purchase order number is required, please email accounts@ako.ac.nz after registering with the order number in the subject line.

If you are registering other people, please make sure to select 'Email tickets to each attendee' on the registration
form so that each person receives their unique access to the online course/workshop.
Registrations close two days before the course date.
