Exploring Ako | Six Steps to Success – Commencing July 2024

Event description

This workshop, and series of elective sessions, will provide kaiako (educators) with an opportunity to access a fresh new resource to guide them in aligning their teaching practices with proven strategies for ākonga (learner) success.

Participants are welcome to attend any combination of overview and elective workshops. Attending the overview workshop first will assist in choosing from the following electives, but is not required:

  • Introductory Overview | 25 July 2024, 12.00pm – 2.00pm
  • Knowing your ākonga | 1 August 2024, 12.00pm – 1.00pm
  • Interpersonal relationships | 15 August 2024, 12.00pm – 1.00pm
  • Knowing relevant practices | 29 August 2024, 12.00pm – 1.00pm
  • Reflecting on active experience | 12 September 2024, 12.00pm – 1.00pm
  • Constructive alignment | 26 September 2024, 12.00pm – 1.00pm
  • Expectations, challenges and motivations | 10 October 2024, 12.00pm – 1.00pm

You can register for each of the workshops individually. 

There will be opportunities to reflect on successful practices in relation to your own teaching contexts, share successes with others and motivate each other to implement new strategies. Participants will be encouraged to participate in a Community of Practice to support further implementation of the six principles

Digital badges

Kaiako will receive a digital badge for participation. Kaiako can receive a second digital badge, after at least three months, for providing evidence of the implementation of new principles and professional sharing of practices, and the impact of these on outcomes for ākonga.

  

Billing information

We accept payments by card or by invoice. At checkout you will be able to choose your payment option. Invoices are raised by Massey University on behalf of Ako Aotearoa so please note that there will be a delay between registering for the event and receiving the invoice.

PLEASE NOTE: Invoices are limited to payment from registered tertiary organisations only

If you would like to pay by invoice, before registering, please find out from your finance team:

  • the billing address and the email address you would like the invoice sent to. 
  • whether or not you require a purchase number, if a purchase order number is required, please email accounts@ako.ac.nz after registering with the order number in the subject line.

If you are registering other people, please make sure to select 'Email tickets to each attendee' on the registration form so that each person receives their unique access to the online course/workshop.
