    Event description

    A FUN & FASCINATING AUTHENTIC RELATING (A.R.) SOCIAL & SELF-DICOVERY EVENT

    • Facilitated, collaborative, un-pressured, experiential explorations and reflections in pairs and small groups.
    • Expanding our natural relating skills & supporting conscious community.
    • Opportunities to be seen, felt, & accepted in ways that are natural and empowered yet often not regularly available in our culture.
    • Mainly an experiential event. Questions are welcome at any time, but mostly people will be engaging in practices.

    ----------------------

    People attend for many reasons:

    • It feels amazing to really engage with others more deeply and richly in a collaborative and supportive ways.
    • To upgrade natural fluency in presence, intuition, boundaries, and relating abilities and confidence. (Yes all these can be learned, just like any skills.)
    • For deeper insights into the essence of who we truly are. Many folk tell us that A.R. assisted them to drop old patterns, conditioned habits & limitations.

    ---------------------

    AUTHENTIC RELATING
A.R. is an internationally-established field of conscious relating skills. Developed in the 1990s in the US, and soon reaching Europe (where we first encountered it many years ago), there are now numerous A.R. community movements across the world. Here's a great demonstration video of one of the many kinds of games we offer.

This video is from Authentic Revolution in the USA (one of the groups we have trained with):

    NCAE Facilitators:
NCAE arose from the Melbourne group that pioneered A.R. in Australia 2006-2022. We hold a collaborative space. Our approach is grounded and supportive, and very 'human'. Yes, we have a lot of experience, but are also just on the path like anyone else. This evening event is co-facilitated also with Anna Bond of Sydney's 'Embodied Self'.

    No Perfectionist Expectations:
A.R. works best as a curious exploration, not by trying hard to be really good at exercises. These are all learning environments, and being able to be basically empathic and present is far more important than quickly having high skill or confidence.

    -----------------------

What Authentic Relating (and this event) ISN'T:

This isn't therapy: It's not about trying to 'fix' or classify anyone. A.R. can be very helpful in processing challenges or trauma-residue, but that happens organically. A.R. isn't suitable for people who aren't comfortable to see deeper edges of themselves or others.

There's no 'System' to 'be perfect at': Using these frameworks, people are supported to tap into their own resources. We don't tell anyone 'how to be'.

A Non-Hierarchical Space: The NCAE facilitators have explored A.R. in depth, so have a lot of practical experience - personally and offering workshops. Yet we are just human like everyone else, and there are many areas in which we too still face our challenging edges. We honor every individual's incredibly different human journey, and hold space in circle (not 'front of house'), so that everyone is part of the process.
