Exploring Identity as a Practitioner: An Arts-Based Inquiry
Event description
Are you seeking to re/connect with your purpose as a practitioner?
Wondering what sustains you through the highs and challenges of your professional journey?
Craving a creative and supportive space to reflect on your identity in the field?
Join Brownyn and Miranda from HappyMess Studio for this 2-hour online workshop where we’ll use arts-based inquiry to reflect on our journeys as health professionals. Together, we’ll uncover what brought us to this work, explore what sustains us, and consider the path ahead. While each of our journeys is unique, this reflective space offers a sense of community, fostering connection and shared discovery.
Through co-creating alongside one another, we’ll uncover the deeper meaning of our roles as practitioners and explore how our professional identities act as a compass—guiding us through both the fulfilling and challenging aspects of our work. With over 20 years of combined experience in clinical, NGO, and community art spaces, Miranda and Bronwyn bring their expertise to this unique and meaningful workshop, designed to redefine the landscape of therapy and community wellness through creative expression.
No prior art experience is needed. Bring your curiosity, an open mind, and a few simple creative materials: paper, pastels, scissors, glue, old magazines, or anything you use in your arts-based practices. We look forward to welcoming you into this supportive and inspiring space!
This session is suitable for allied health workers, community workers and other health professionals and students, and offers an opportunity to pause, reflect, and explore new perspectives within a community of like-minded practitioners from various professional disciplines.
