Exploring Medicinal Plants of Summer

The long summer days are perfect for getting out in the garden and utilising your plants to their full potential.

In this session, join Medical Herbalist Emily Boese (BNatMed, MNZAMH) on a guided tour of the Herb Garden to learn about the medicinal plants that grow all around us in Tāmaki Makaurau.

In this workshop, we will focus on 5 different plants which are ready to be harvested and used in the spring. You will learn:

·        How to correctly identify the plants (no more second guessing!)

·        How to grow and correctly harvest

·        What each plant is used for

·        Which part of each plant to use

·        How to use the plants – whether it is taken internally or used topically

·        Important safety info

·        How to harvest and use medicinal plants sustainably
