Waterway Explorers (ages 5-7 years)

Join us in the Wollongong Botanic Garden as we explore water in our environment

Most of our globe is covered in water but very little is available for drinking. Discover how our local natural areas play a role in the quality of our water.

This outdoor program includes water games, creek exploration and hands on experiments that are designed to expand participant’s knowledge of our connection with the natural environment.

NOTE: This session is suitable for 5 to 7 year olds. Check out our other Humanitix events for our 6 to 10 year olds and our 8 to 12 year old version of this program.

Dress for Adventure!

• Wear fully enclosed shoes that can get a bit wet
• Wear sun-smart clothing, hat and suncreen
• Bring along a bottle of water to drink
• We will play some games with water and participants may get wet so bring along a towel

On the Day

• Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the program start time for check in. 
• Onsite parking is available in P1 at the main entrance and P2 off Madoline St. The closest street parking is on Northfields Ave entering the gardens via the admin office gates, or on Murphys Ave with access via the pedestrian gate. Click here for a map of the garden.  

Cancellation Details

• Minimal numbers apply for this program to run
• This event may be cancelled or postponed if the weather conditions aren't suitable. We will notify you via text and email no later than 1 hour prior to the start of the event if the program is not able to run due to the weather
• In the case that the event is cancelled due to weather conditions the ticket cost will be refunded

Additional Info

• All participants must have a ticket and be supervised by an adult. Adults also require a ticket but these tickets are free.
• This is an outdoor event and includes activities along the creek. All activities will occur adjoining formed pathways or on lawn areas suitable for strollers.
• Safety in all our activities is always considered however participants attend activities at their own risk and adults are responsible for their children.

Refund Policy

• Full refunds are available up to 7 days before the event. No refunds can be provided after that date.
