This NSW Export Capability Building workshop is designed for businesses looking to initiate export activities, as well as export-ready businesses aiming to consolidate their knowledge and maximise long-term export gains.

This Introduction to Exporting workshop is designed to increase your business's export-readiness. The workshop will include several informative discussions on topical issues for exporters, such as export fundamentals and reviewing your business's capacity and capability. 

The workshop is brought to you by Investment NSW, Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Central Coast Industry Connect, Central Coast Council, Regional Development Australia Central Coast, and The Australian Industry Group (Ai Group).

The workshop will address the following topics to enhance participant's export knowledge and capability:

  • Is going global right for your business?
  • Reviewing your business capacity and capability
  • Identifying your market (market research)
  • The importance of having an export plan
  • Getting your value proposition right and protecting your IP
  • Discovering sales channel opportunities (eCommerce)
  • Freight, logistics and pricing
  • Accessing finance and getting paid

Who should attend?

        • One rep only from each NSW company. We can create a waiting list for a second representative
        • NSW Businesses with products and services for export
        • Aspiring and new exporters
        • Existing exporters looking for a refresher

        About the Facilitator: Sharon Foster, Senior Export Adviser, Investment NSW; she will also provide an overview of support available to take your business internationally.  

        Sharon is a Senior Export Adviser and TradeStart Adviser, in the NSW Government (Investment NSW), and a member of Austrade’s National TradeStart Network, based at Ourimbah on the Central Coast (University of Newcastle).

        Sharon works with potential, new and existing exporters providing them with a range of export development advice, services and resources, export programs, and connection to our offshore networks. Sharon has a diverse background and experience, including working offshore in international markets.


        About the Presenter: Shirley Ng, National Manager International Competitiveness, The Australian Industry Group (Ai Group)

        Shirley Ng leads Ai Group's international growth consulting services. She has extensive experience in international business, working with Australian enterprises to develop export marketing and sales strategies for global growth. Shirley has traveled widely across key markets in North and South-East Asia to support her clients' export and global expansion strategies.

        She has worked in various industries at both strategic and operational levels, managing programs to help businesses grow and sustain exports. Shirley focuses on building strategic partnerships and enhancing business relationships with government and private sector organisations across key export markets.
