This 3-hour workshop provides foundation knowledge in the neuroscience of challenging behaviour; key concepts in trauma informed care, as well as practical strategies to support well-being and development.
Learning goals:
What is trauma, the different types of trauma and its impact on developing children’s brains and their behaviour.
Develop knowledge and understanding to build confidence and capacity to support children impacted by trauma.
Verbal and non-verbal strategies to promote secure attachment, emotional regulation, and a sense of safety.
For teachers, this course is NESA Accredited aligns with the Professional Standards 1.1.2 and 4.1.2 at a Proficient Teacher Level.
