As part of the University of Technology Sydney Graduate Certificate in Learning Design and related Critique: Issues in Learning Design microcredential, we invite guest speakers from industry to share their knowledge and experiences with our students (we call these our 'Expression Sessions'). We're opening our next Expression Session to the public to meet with Ashley Wilcox, Inclusive Practice practitioner at UTS.  

About Ashley 

Ashley is committed to creating accessible and inclusive learning environments in higher education. As an Inclusive Practices Support Officer at the Ed Hub, she supports academic and professional staff through consultations, workshops, and resource development focused on inclusive teaching and accessibility.

Ashley played a key role in developing the Inclusive Practices Review—a framework for continually improving accessibility in digital learning tools and teaching practices. Her contributions have helped the team earn Accessibility in Action Awards from the Australian Disability Clearinghouse on Education and Training (ADCET) in 2022, 2023, and 2025, recognising initiatives such as the Inclusive Practices Review, enhanced digital accessibility standards for students with complex access requirements, and the Professional Captioning Dashboard.

With experience in disability education and English language teaching, Ashley brings valuable insight into diverse student access requirements. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Writing) and joined the Ed Hub while studying for a Master of Teaching (Secondary Education).
