Event description

Are you interested in participating in a roundtable discussion on the OAIC Children’s Online Privacy Code?

Chatham House Rules will apply to encourage a collaborative and open discussion.

To help us settle a date for the consultation - when submitting the form choose the month that best suits you.

Background

The Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2024 (the Act) introduced a mandate for the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) to develop a Children’s Online Privacy Code (the Code)

As part of this process, the OAIC is inviting industry, civil society, academia and any other interested parties to respond to the Issues Paper, attached below. This paper seeks information and views to inform the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner’s (OAIC) development of the Code. While public consultation is not a statutory requirement the OAIC seeks views to inform the draft Code by identifying key issues, perspectives or gaps. While we will are likely to hold the roundtable after 31 July 2025 (Deadline for responding to the issues paper) we are still keen to consult with you on the proposed plan in time for Phase 3 of the consultation.
