About the Trip

Join the City of Ballarat Ageing Well Services team for an enjoyable day out to explore the Melbourne Zoo!

Travel by coach from Ballarat to the Melbourne Zoo for a relaxed and enjoyable day out. Share the day with friends, meet some of the Zoo's residents and enjoy a relaxed social day out together.

Bus will depart at 9am from the Eureka Centre carpark. 102 Stawell Street, Eureka.
Please arrive by 8:45am - Free all day parking available.

Cost: $30 per person
Who Can Attend: Ballarat residents aged 55+
Places Available: 46
Bookings: Expressions of Interest only for a maximum of 2 people per booking. Due to high demand, participants will be randomly selected via a ballot. Expressions of Interest will be open until Wednesday 28 October 2026.

Ballot will be drawn on Thursday 29 October 2026 and winners contacted to confirm their place on the bus trip and complete payment.

Unsuccessful ballot entries will not be contacted and will remain on a wait list in case of future availability.

What's Included:

• Return coach travel to and from Melbourne Zoo

• Entry into Melbourne Zoo

• Plenty of time to arrive, explore the Zoo and grab some lunch (at participants own expense)

Timeline:

• 9am - Leave Eureka Centre car park

• 10:30am - Arrive at Melbourne Zoo

• 3:00pm - Bus leaves for return journey to Ballarat

• 5:00pm - Return to the Eureka Centre carpark

Important Information:

• Please fill the required fields when registering

• Successful participants will be notified after the ballot draw

This will be largely an independent day for participants to enjoy and experience the day how they wish, however City of Ballarat staff will be available for assistance if needed.

Mobility: This outing involves some walking and navigating stairs on the bus and around Melbourne Zoo. It's recommended for people with good mobility. Walkers and walking aids are welcome and can be stored under the bus.

Accessibility: Melbourne Zoo is an all abilities access venue.
