Expressive Drawing and Painting with Mixed Media
Explore the exciting world of mixed media in this hands on 5-week course. Experiment with pencils, ink, watercolour, acrylics and collage to create unique and expressive art works.
What will be covered in the course:
Through demonstrations and a variety of exercises and handouts, you will learn how to plan, draw up and experiment with different techniques and processes using a variety of mediums including inks, pastels, acrylics, Charcoal and collage
By the end of this course students will:
Students will be able to confidently combine drawing and painting materials. Use layering, texture and collage in your art and experiment with different mediums to create lively, energetic, modern and colourful representations of your choice of subject matter.
THIS CLASS IS FOR: Beginners to intermediate/advanced.

Some materials will be provided
1. Pencils - graphite 2B, 4B,6B
2. ERASERS- Plastic, kneadable
3. paper towel
4. A3 sketch pad
5. 300gsm paper gessoed or canvas
6. Acrylic/watercolour paints- variety of colours
7. Soft Pastels - (suggest Micador set as an inexpensive )
8. Willow Charcoal
9. Spray Fixative
10.Variety of brushes eg ½ inch flat, 1 inch flat, small round, #6&10 flat brush
11.Water container
12.Palette
13.Glue
14.Sheets of photocopy paper
15.Water sprayer
16.Stanley knife
17.Hair-dryer
18.Any other materials you have eg colour pencils
ABOUT THE TUTOR
Julianne Gosper has 25+ years experience both as a practising artist and Art teacher in both secondary schools and T.A.F.E.
She holds a B.A in Fine Arts, U.N.S.W and a Diploma
Assorted a in Arts Education from Deakin University.
She has won numerous awards including The Bendigo Art prize, the Louis Ellem Art Prize and in 2021 she was also selected as a finalist in the Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award.
Julianne loves to explore and experiment in a variety of mediums to produce energetic, large scale artworks capturing the essence of her subject matter.
She loves to share her knowledge and skills to inspire others with a particular focus on experimentation and having fun.
Julianne has a particular interest in advocating the benefits of the Arts for Wellbeing. For the past several years she has worked with Special needs students developing an Arts Enrichment Program focussing on improving mental health building confidence and self esteem.
