Event description

Join us for this hand-on workshop where you will learn the fundamentals and techniques of extracting natural colors from plants for use on fabric. This workshop is more in-depth and involves using 2-4 different seasonal, local

plants and how to extract them to create a dye. We will discuss fabric

preparation,care and other techniques that can be used with natural dyes. We will

create solid colors or patterns using resist techniques (tie-dye) learn how to change

the color of our dye with pH.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR:

Clarissa Holmes is from Hamilton, Montana but lives most of the time in Crete, Greece since 2016. She is a natural dye and textile artist, forager of plants and creator of natural paints and pigments. Visit her website below to view her work and other projects.
