Description

A new way to see the Cobaw Biolink - A discussion opportunity for NDLG Members

What could it tell us if we could see it from above?

Eyes on Habitat is a new UCLN drone-mapping project bringing together technology, ecological expertise and our group’s local knowledge to build a clearer picture of habitat across our landscape.

Presenter Rebekah Ritchie is the Landcare Facilitator for the Upper Campaspe Landcare Network, supporting local Landcare groups and communities across central Victoria. She is passionate about connecting people, sharing knowledge and finding practical, collaborative ways to protect biodiversity and build healthier, more resilient landscapes.

Working with Alex Faulkner, Principal Ecologist at Modern Ecology, NDLG has the opportunity to nominate a Landcare site to be surveyed and mapped by drone.

We would receive:

  • A high-resolution aerial map of our site

  • A bird’s-eye view of vegetation, waterways and habitat features

  • Identification of habitat strengths, gaps and opportunities

  • Useful imagery for planning, grant applications and reporting

Eyes on Habitat offers a new way to see what’s there, celebrate what we’ve achieved and help guide what comes next.
