Faith & Work with Kara Martin
Event description
Abstract
The modern Faith–Work movement has been active since the 1970s but has never fulfilled its early promise of liberating the laity. Why is this so? What stops theological colleges from forming Christian leaders for whole–life discipleship? What stops churches from fully equipping the people in their congregations for whatever workplace they are called into? Why do Christians feel either guilty or defensive about expressing their faith in a workplace setting?
Kara Martin will draw on the latest research and her own extensive
experience of the global movement to suggest where the blockages are,
and some possible ways forward
