Fall 2026 OATSA training: Static-99R

Static-99R: Sexual recidivism risk assessments are increasingly utilized in a variety of behavioral health, correctional, and court settings. The Static-99R is one of the most commonly used sexual offense specific risk assessment instruments in the world.

This session will provide an overview of the development and research of the Static-99R, item-by-item instructions for scoring the tool, and appropriate interpretation and use within varying settings. This will include the recent updates regarding recidivism rates and desistance from sexual offending. Case studies will be utilized to facilitate practice throughout the training as well.

Training materials will be emailed the week of the training.

Trainer: Casey VanHoutan, MA, LPC, Certified Clinical Sexual Offense Therapist (CCSOT)

CEUs:

• Registration includes an OATSA certificate of attendance for 8 total training hours.

• + $30 for CEUs certified by the National Association of Social Work (NASW). Please check with your local licensing board to confirm whether you require certified CEUs; for example, licensed social workers in Oregon require NASW approved CEUs, while licensed psychologists and professional counselors do not.
