Muwekma Ohlone Preservation Foundation
Horše Túuxi Lawrence, On behalf of the Muwekma Ohlone Preservation Foundation Board of Directors, I want to thank you for your One-time donation of $150 to the Muwekma Ohlone Preservation Foundation. Your generosity truly makes a difference in our efforts to preserve and honor the cultural heritage of the Muwekma Ohlone people. Our mission is to collaborate with Muwekma tribal members and allies to advance the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe's goals of resilience, cultural revitalization, community education, and efforts for access, ownership, and stewardship of ancestral lands. Your support will help us make progress toward our organizational priorities in the coming year: · Secure a site on ancestral lands for the purpose of a tribal village to provide direct benefit to tribal members including essential infrastructure such as housing for tribal members, ceremonial space, health care for elders, space to gather and practice culture, youth programs, native gardens, picnics, and reburials. · Secure agreements for land access for tribal members in ancestral territory to support ties to culture, environmental stewardship, resource gathering, native gardens, individual wellness and reflection, tribal gatherings, overnight family campouts, and ceremony including sweat lodges. · Advance cultural revitalization to strengthen tribal members' connection to their culture, the tribe, their history, and one another. Successfully pass Chochenyo language skills, traditional dances, regalia making, and songs to tribal members. · Provide community education to enhance public understanding of Muwekma history, current priorities, and ways to offer support. Public and private institutions host presentations and land acknowledgements, create and maintain Muwekma native gardens, host exhibits, raise flags, and rename spaces in partnership with the Tribe. Your gift will directly support the Muwekma Ohlone Preservation Foundation in hiring staff, implementing our strategic plan, revitalizing our culture, advancing community education, facilitating community partnerships for land access, identifying sites for our tribal village, and ensuring tribal member engagement and leadership in all that we do. As always, please feel free to reach out to us at info@muwekmafoundation.org. Charlene Nijmeh Chair, Muwekma Ohlone Tribe of the San Francisco Bay Area Board President, Muwekma Ohlone Preservation Foundation No goods or services were provided in exchange for this gift.
