Fall From Grace - A Visual Embodiment
Event description
It's lights on for live music venues, but this time we're transcending its boundaries.
Rebel Yell brings you a transformative A/V exploration for her launch of 'Fall From Grace'. Reimagining techno as a sit-down experience, we will be subverting genre forms to construct a cinematic performance. With a heavy focus on live visual elements, Carla Zimbler will design and operate animated environments responsive to sound.
Based on a mutual connection, adjusting to temperature shifts, daylight/darkness and physical isolation, Carla and Rebel Yell share an affection for Iceland and yearn to return. They will flip hemispheres and introduce perplexing visual textures and sonic landscapes reminiscent of moss-covered lava fields and volcanic craters. Coinciding with the theme, "hard music to explore soft ideas", Rebel Yell's 'Fall From Grace' performance fuses psychogeography and nostalgia to build boundless, inhabitable terrains through emotive A/V experimentation.
