Fall Native Plant Maintenance Walk-and-Talk with Erik Blank — Oct 10, 2026
Description
Explore spring native plant care during a guided walk-and-talk focused on seasonal maintenance in the garden. Learn what to prune, what to leave, and how to support healthy growth as plants move into their active spring season.
Join Horticulture Educator and Garden Lead, Erik Blank, for an overview of seasonal maintenance practices, watering schedules, and pruning techniques using practical examples to give you a solid foundation in assessing the needs of your native garden in So Cal spring conditions.
This walk and talk will be held outdoors in our demonstration gardens. We ask guests to wear closed-toe shoes, sun protection, and to prepare for up to one hour of walking on sloped and uneven surfaces. Water bottles are strongly recommended.
Erik Blank is a long-time California native plant enthusiast. He is Horticultural Educator & Garden Lead and an instructor of the California Native Plant Landscaper Certification for the Theodore Payne Foundation. Erik brings over 10 years of hands-on, professional experience in restoration, installation, and maintenance.

- What if it rains?
Rain or Shine Policy
Our classes generally take place rain or shine. We do not cancel classes simply because rain is forecast; however, the safety of our students, instructors, and staff comes first. In the event of severe weather or unsafe conditions, we will evaluate the situation on a case-by-case basis and may modify, relocate, postpone, or cancel a class. If TPF cancels or postpones a class due to weather, registered participants will be notified as soon as possible and offered a refund or the option to transfer their registration to a rescheduled date when available.
