  • Virginia Vasconi

    Virginia Vasconi

Your 2026 Fall Retreat visiting Maestra: Born in Córdoba, Argentina, Virginia Vasconi is a professional Argentine Tango dancer, teacher and choreographer who has devoted more than 20 years exclusively to Argentine Tango. Her extensive movement background includes ballet, jazz and contemporary dance, yoga, stretching and biomechanics. Virginia brings these disciplines together in an approach to Tango centered on natural, functional and organic movement—helping dancers develop greater body awareness, stability, balance, fluidity and freedom. She is the creator of Block Biomechanics by Virginia Vasconi, her training method focused on biomechanics, stability, balance and deep body awareness. Her philosophy is particularly aligned with the heart of this retreat: using greater understanding of our bodies to discover more natural movement, authentic expression, connection and freedom in Tango. • Tigran & Shannon

    Tigran & Shannon

Meet Your Hosts: Shannon Konkel & Tigran Melkonyan Partners in Argentine Tango, event organizing, and—most importantly—cherished friends, Shannon and Tigran share a love of Tango, adventure, travel, all things aviation—and, a perhaps unreasonable appreciation for decadent desserts! Tigran fell in love with Argentine Tango from his first introduction and has continued to make learning, dancing, and growing in Tango a pivotal part of his life. He's passionate about introducing Tango to others as a meaningful gift life has to offer. Shannon brings a lifelong background in dance—including ballet, tap, and jazz, with experience performing and teaching internationally. After discovering Argentine Tango, she found a new chapter in her dance journey—one filled with joy, adventure, new challenges, and the warm embrace of the global Tango community. They love traveling the world to experience new cultures, meet strangers who become friends, explore local food, and, of course, dance Tango. Together they hope to introduce more of that world to Tennessee, the place they each currently call home—by creating opportunities for Argentine Tango, community, music, and connection (and scrumptious sweet treats now and then!) to intersect...like a warm embrace. ♡ You can find them on FB - @TMTango or @615Tango and IG - @615Tango
