For Families, Parents + Carers of LGBTIQA+ Young People online training with Twenty10
Event description
Join Twenty10 for a 1.5-hour training workshop for families, parents + carers who are supporting LGBTIQA+ young people. In this training, we will share foundational knowledge about the language in LGBTIQA+ communities, with an emphasis on gender diversity, the experiences of LGBTIQA+ young people at home and school in Australia, and tangible and practical ways to affirm and support LGBTIQA+ young people who might be exploring or affirming their identities.
After this training, participants will:
- understand how language can be used to communicate support, acceptance and affirmation
- recognise the impacts of discrimination and microaggressions, as well as the impacts of allyship and support
- recognise the significance of their role as allies to LGBTIQA+ young people
This session is for anyone who would like to learn more about how they can support LGBTIQA+ people close to them, as well as those who are supporting families, parents and carers of LGBTIQA+ young people.
This session will not be recorded.
