Family Festival Spring 2026
Description
We’re excited to announce the Canning Spring 2026 Family Festival – a fun-filled day for the whole family, held every school holiday at Shelley Primary School.
The festival will be full of activities that are both engaging and meaningful, designed to bring neighbours together through connection, learning, and joy. Inspired by the Bahá’í teachings, the festival is inclusive and welcoming to people of all backgrounds, communities, and faiths.
Please make sure you or your child arrives on time, as the program begins with activities that are important for everyone to join from the start.
What’s on
Children’s programs (ages 5–11)
Fun activities exploring cooperation, inclusivity, and unity through arts & crafts, storytelling, games, and sports.Junior youth programs (ages 12–15)
Youth-led sessions designed to inspire learning, friendship, and positive action.Parent workshop
Learning about the spiritual education of children, and why this is essential to the progress of society.
Children under the age of 5 are welcome, but will need to be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian. Playground facilities will be available for use.
Important information
Although the program finishes at 4:00pm, parents are asked to arrive by 3:15pm to enjoy the children’s presentations!
Registration is required so we can plan food, activities, and resources for all participants. The registration form includes allergy information, as snacks and lunch will be provided and we want to make sure everyone stays safe.
A parent/legal guardian must complete the registration form for participants under 18.
On the day, please check in at the front desk when you arrive and check out before you leave, for safety reasons.
The festival costs around $10 per person to run. In order to keep it sustainable into the future, people are free to contribute during registrations (there is a donation function when selecting tickets), as well as in-person, when checking-in. To make sure cost isn’t a barrier, the contribution is completely optional. We’d love everyone to register — all are welcome, regardless of financial situation.

About the organisers
We're a group of youth from Riverton and surrounding neighbourhoods within Canning. We're aiming to make a positive difference in our local area by offering service to the community and bringing people together. The Baha'i teachings place an emphasis on service to the community as a fundamental aspect of both individual growth and the betterment of society:
"And the honour and distinction of the individual consist in this, that he among all the world’s multitudes should become a source of social good."
The activities at the Family Festival are inspired by the Baha'i teachings, are inclusive and welcoming of all communities and faiths, and have been designed with the aim to bring our diverse Canning community together for community connection and meaningful action.
“The earth is but one country, and mankind its citizens.”
