Would you like to learn from other families of people with disability about how they have gone about finding or creating meaningful work? From work experience to first jobs to securing purposeful employment as an adult, this online parent panel brings together families at different points on the journey to share their approaches and insights.
This interactive online panel will cover:
• Family stories and experiences about finding and maintaining meaningful employment
• How the young person is involved and sets the direction for their future
• The strategies that worked well and those that didn’t

About the Presenter:
Our panelists are parents of people with disability from Queensland, at different stages of their family member’s life and employment path.
Who Should Attend?
This webinar is for parents and family members of a secondary student with disabilities. Supporters and allies are also welcome to attend.
Learning Objectives
Attendees will, as a result of participating in this session will:
• Recognise that meaningful employment is possible for people with disability.
• Identify key strategies that lead to positive employment outcomes for people with disability.
• Develop confidence in their ability to involve their young person in planning for meaningful employment.
• Recognise potential hurdles and feel improved confidence in navigating these hurdles.
• Feel more knowledgeable about where to seek support and information to best support their young person to secure meaningful employment.
What do I need to participate?
We will be using the video meeting platform Zoom to host the webinar.
You will need access to:
• a computer or iPad/tablet or smart phone with internet access;
• speakers/sound
