Each October, Fantasy Fest transforms Key West into a ten-day celebration of creativity, costuming and pure island spectacle, culminating in the world-famous Fantasy Fest Parade down Duval Street.

This year’s theme, “Musical Icons and Iconic Musicals,” could not be a more perfect fit. Few musical icons are as deeply connected to Key West as Jimmy Buffett. His songs carried the island’s characters, stories, humor and laid-back spirit around the world, making this parade the perfect opportunity to celebrate the music and memories that continue to bring so many people together.

Margaritaville Key West has invited Just a Few Friends and A Pirate Looks Back Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show to help create an epic rolling tribute—and you’re invited to be part of it!

This isn’t just a chance to watch the parade. It’s your chance to be in it.

Caleb Hogan, creator and star of the wildly entertaining A Pirate Looks Back, will take the stage aboard a full-scale tropical volcano float. His show brings Jimmy’s music to life through live performance, stories, humor and the unmistakable island spirit behind the songs—and he’s bringing that energy to the streets!

The float comes complete with music, lights, two onboard bathrooms and an oversized volcano. It will also feature a body-painted volcano goddess created by award-winning body-painting artist Pashur.

Before the parade, our entire group will gather at the Truman Waterfront Park staging grounds for a full on Margaritaville tailgate featuring cheeseburger sliders, a volcano nacho bar, LandShark beer, margaritas and plenty of time to get into the Fantasy Fest spirit.

PARADE WALKER · $50

Walk alongside the float and choose how you want to participate:

• Join the Second Line umbrella brigade, featuring decorated umbrellas and a little simple choreography

• Carry a Just a Few Friends banner

• Carry one of the Jimmy Buffett memorial placards

• Walk with the group and distribute leis along the route

• Be a float/parade monitor - get a free t-shirt!

• Decorated trikes/bikes are permitted with approval.

Walkers receive:

• Official Margaritaville badge and lanyard

• Margaritaville souvenir cup

• Leis to give away during the parade

• Beer, margaritas and catered tailgate meal

• Admission to the umbrella craft party and parade rehearsal

• Badge-holder drink specials at the after-party

Think tropical, vintage concert and full-on Fantasy Fest fun.

Swimsuits, coconut bras, tropical shirts, hula skirts, board shorts and vintage concert attire all fit right in. Or turn one of the songs into a costume: sharks, salt shakers, parrots, pirates, volcanoes, cheeseburgers, bubbles and other creative nods to the music and island lifestyle.

Come comfortably festive or go completely over the top. Lighting yourself with glow sticks, lighted leis, battery operated holiday lights, etc. will make you stand out more as the evening gets darker. Walkers should choose footwear they can comfortably wear for the entire parade route, which is about 1.5 miles.

Bubble guns are highly encouraged. The more bubbles floating around our group, the better!

🍔 PRE-PARADE TAILGATE

We’ll gather at the Truman Waterfront Park staging grounds at 5:00 PM for a full Margaritaville tailgate featuring music, food and beverages. Margaritaville Cafe will be down with cheeseburger sliders and a volcano nacho bar. And for your pre-game, enjoy complementary LandShark beer, margaritas and ice water in your official Margaritaville souvenir cup

🎨 UMBRELLA CRAFT PARTY & REHEARSAL

We’ll gather upstairs at Margaritaville at 11 am on Thursday, October 22 for an arts and crafts party to decorate our Second Line umbrellas (provided with your registration fees should you choose this option) and learn a short, easy routine to “Volcano” for the judges’ stand. No dance experience is required.

🎤 MUSICAL ICONS KARAOKE AFTER-PARTY

After the parade, everyone is invited to keep the party going at Margaritaville with hosted karaoke featuring sing-alongs with Caleb Hogan and drink specials for parade badge holders.

• Advance registration is required.

• Volcano Float VIP space is extremely limited and expected to sell out. Margaritaville Second Line Krewe members will not be permitted aboard the float after the parade begins.

• All participants must sign a waiver and wear both the official parade wristband provided by Fantasy Fest and the Margaritaville badge and lanyard provided by the organizers.

• All participants must arrive at the Truman Waterfront Park staging area at the designated time and check in with our float organizers to receive their credentials.

• Margaritaville Second Line Krewe members must be able to complete the entire parade route. The streets are gated, and exiting the route early is generally not possible.

• The parade does not end where it begins. Please review the route map and plan your transportation accordingly. Staging a bike is a great idea!

• Volcano Float VIPs must remain aboard the float for the duration of the parade unless instructed otherwise. Riders will exit the float at the intersection of Catherine and Duval streets.

• Alcoholic beverages are available only to guests age 21 and older with valid identification. Please drink responsibly.

• All participants must follow parade, safety and staging instructions.

• Registration is nonrefundable but may be transferred with prior approval from the organizers.

• Two areas along the route are especially important: the viewing stand, where the official photos are taken, and the judges’ stand. Please listen for instructions from our organizers so our entire entry is captured perfectly!

• The Fantasy Fest Parade is FREE for spectators. Registration fees apply only to participation in this private parade experience.

• The FREE Margaritaville after-party is open to everyone. We expect it to begin between 9:00 and 10:00 PM, depending on our position in the parade. Margaritaville is approximately seven blocks back from the end of the route.
