Farm Dinners with Georgia van Prehn
Event description
Farm Dinners is an outdoor pop-up dining experience at Kelmarna Community Farm, inviting our favourite chefs to
celebrate the bounty of our land.
Bringing you closer to your food, Farm Dinners turns food miles into food metres.
This year we welcome some exciting new chef partners to delight your taste buds over these incredible summer evenings.
Drawing on the seasonal harvest from the garden and the forest, Georgia has created a 4-course menu inspired by Kelmarna's
produce, both farmed and foraged, with other ingredients sourced locally and sustainably. A carefully created and
selected drinks list, as well as an optional drinks match designed by Michael Hanna of Project Hydrosol, will be available to complement the menu.

About Georgia van Prehn and Michael Hanna - Project Hydrosol:
Georgia spent most of career working in kitchens in Melbourne, returning to New Zealand in 2019 to take her first position as head chef at Scotch Wine Bar. That same year the restaurant was awarded 1 hat in the Cuisine good food awards. In 2021 she opened Alta restaurant, a then small restaurant focusing on seasonal produce, preserves and minimal waste. Most recently at Mr. Morris, fusing her ethos with the wood fired barbecue and a more rustic approach she was awarded ‘one to watch’ from Cuisine good food awards 2024. Georgia describes her food as “playful and inspired by classics, art and nature; heralding vegetables in unassuming ways using rustic techniques.”
Project Hydrosol is a non-alcoholic nano-distillery exploring the use of new and old techniques for extracting flavour and aroma from New Zealand native, endemic and alien botanicals.
