Soil Health and Grazing Farm Discussion Day
Event description
Kindly Hosted by Dayle & Tamsin Lucas in conjunction with the Canterbury Grazing Group with support from Quorum Sense and MPI.
Dayle & Tamsin look forward to welcoming you to their farm near Methven for an interactive and informative day of learning and sharing their experiences on a 300ha sheep & beef property on the upper Canterbury Plains.
Dayle had previously worked on dairy farms before he and his Dad bought this farm 20 years ago. Dayle has always seen the benefits in reducing inputs and he is slowly moving towards a more sustainable and resilient closed system on their farm.
Tamsin also plays an important role on the farm as well as running her own equine nutrition business and teaching riding lessons.
Jules Mathews will be attending this event and as always her knowledge and open and engaging manner will undoubtedly lead to some great discussions!!
Discussion topics for the day will include:
- Soil & pasture health
- Using dead stock to produce hydrolysate fertiliser for enriching pasture & soil health
- Developing a closed loop farm system-utilising on farm resources
The day will include a farm tour.
