Farm Fun Day
Event description
If you want to experience a NZ farm, have some fun and connect with other people then come along to the free, Farm Fun Day. It is for people of all ages. We especially welcome those from other countries to join us and experience this slice of kiwi life.
Attendees will have the opportunity to look around Peter Reveley's farm, see the animals, feed the lambs, have a go at some farming activities (like moving cows) & try some new pastimes (like caber tossing). Kids can have a go on the ride-on toys, trampoline, swings and frames. There will be some outdoor games available - for adults and kids, a badminton area set up and sack racing for those keen to give it a go. Some people might prefer to just relax, watching all the action, that is fine too. You choose what you want to do and how long to stay - we'll be there from 11am until 3pm.
The event is FREE- but please bring something for a shared lunch (eating @12pm) and your own plate, cup & cutlery. Tea and Coffee will be provided. You may like to bring a picnic chair or blanket (optional) and if the kids want to have a go in the moving pool (one of a kind experience!), then they will need to bring a towel and their swimsuit.
The farm is 30 minutes from Ashburton and 10 minutes from Mt Somers. The address & driving instructions will be supplied to all who register, the day before. If you need a ride from Ashburton, we have 11 seats available in a van. Select 'Ride from Ashburton' tickets to secure a place in the van and meet at 10.15am for a 10:30 departure from Community House, 44 Cass st.
This is a free event but please register so we know numbers!
Please be aware that if it's wet, the event will be canceled, those registered will be notified by email.
This event is organised by Mid Canterbury Newcomers Network & Mid Canterbury TimeBank because we love to help people connect and have fun! We are very grateful to the Reveley's for hosting us all at their farm.
