Event description

Welcome to Farm Kindy at the Green Connect Farm! There's no better teacher than nature, and no better classroom than the great outdoors!

Join us at the Farm each Thursday from 9am-11am for a wonderful morning of nature-based learning and play. Each week we'll have plenty of time for free-play, as well as enjoy our sandpit and mudpit, meet the farm animals and explore different parts of our beautiful farm. There'll be a big focus on using natural materials to understand the world around us. We'll build, draw, make and create, as well as get dirty and immerse ourselves in the great outdoors.

Farm Kindy is aimed at children aged 2-5 years. Younger children are welcome to join, however please be aware that activities may be aimed at slightly older children. Children under 12 months are free with a ticket-holding sibling, however if you are bringing a baby without an older child you must purchase a ticket for them. Parents do not need to purchase tickets to attend.

Farm Kindy runs on Thursdays throughout the school terms. We go ahead in all weather, unless it is dangerous to do so. Come prepared for the weather and prepared to get dirty!

Important things to note:

  • This is not a drop-off program. Parents and/or guardians must stay onsite and are responsible for the supervision of their children.
  • The site is a working farm; all visitors will be given a brief safety induction upon arrival.
  • Please arrive between 9-9.30am. We may take a tour of the farm or begin facilitated activities at 9.30am, depending on our plans for the week. If you arrive after 9.30am, your child(ren) may miss out on these activities.
  • The terrain at the farm is steep and can be slippery in parts. Participants may be required to walk across uneven or sloping ground.
  • Although many activities will take place in the Children's Garden, most other areas in the farm are not accessible for wheelchairs or prams. If you have mobility restrictions or any concerns about your ability to navigate the terrain, please contact us before booking.
  • Allergen advice: Our farm is home to domestic animals as well as bees, wasps, and macadamia trees. Please pack an EpiPen if allergic and keep it with you while on site.
  • Wear enclosed shoes or boots (no thongs or sandals allowed). This goes for all adults AND children.
  • Our farm plants love rain and so do we! We don't cancel activities in wet weather unless there is a dangerous storm, so be ready to come prepared for the weather. Wear a hat and sunscreen if it's sunny or gumboots and raingear if rainy.
  • Bring a water bottle.
