Event description

Looking for a unique location to host your little one's—or your big one's—party?

Let us you up under our marquee in the Stables Paddock, a picturesque spot nestled between the orchard and the nursery garden, with river gums overlooking the Birrarung. The marquee accommodates up to 60 people comes with trestle tables, hay bales and Tolix A-chair seating; guests are free to explore the Farm and participate in public activities, or book an exclusive add-on:

  • Meet the Guinea Pigs
Beat the lines! One of our farmers brings a muddle of guinea pigs and a bucket of greens to the marquee for a private meet-and-greet. You can feed and pet them at your leisure, no need to line up or wait for an appointed time. Meet the Guinea Pigs sessions cost $130 for 20 minutes and are suitable for up to 30 children (or adults!)
  • Meet a Pony
One of our farmers brings a pony to the marquee for a private meet-and-greet. Guests get to brush and pat them whilst learning all about their cheeky personalities. Sessions cost $250 for 20 minutes plus setup and packdown. Choose between Brandy or little Finnegan
    • Brandy is a 21 year old Welsh Pony who has lived on the Farm for 15 years. She loves being brushed, any kind of snack and she's best friends with our horse Jim. Brandy is very gentle and fine with children of all ages, but as she's a bit taller than Finnegan she's better suited to older children who can reach her mane and body to brush.
    • Finnegan is a 14 year old Miniature Horse, our youngest and cheekiest pony—he's very affectionate but forever getting up to mischief! As Finn is very small, he's a great choice for younger kids. A two- or three-year-old can easily reach his neck and back to brush him.
  • Face Painting
Book a session of face painting for your party! Our face-painter can create full-face designs for 15 children per hour or small designs for 20 children per hour. Minimum two hour booking $260 plus $90 for each additional hour. Please note, if you have more than 20 children attending you must book additional hours.
  • Party Wagon
The Party Wagon is a cute little wooden wagon which comes with a picnic blanket, compostable plates and cutlery and outdoor wooden games like quoits and scatter. This can be booked on its own for small-scale parties which don't require the full HQ setup, or as an add-on to your larger party booking. The wagon hire costs $60 plus a $60 bond, refunded when the wagon is returned with all of its contents intact.

Party. Sorted.

Please note, this package does not include the cost of entry for you or your guests. You can add tickets to your order or purchase them independently, either on our website or in person on the day of your party.

FAQs

  • To protect our animals and grounds, please don’t bring balloons, streamers, piñatas, poppers or ball games.
  • We ask that you don't bring dogs to birthday parties; wrangling children and guinea pigs is enough!
  • Timing
    • You are welcome to arrive for setup when the Farm opens at 9:30am, and your guests any time from 10:00am. We ask that you vacate the marquee from 2:00pm, but everybody is welcome to remain on the Farm grounds until we close.
  • Extras
    • If you have booked a Meet the Guinea Pigs session, a Farmer will bring the guinea pigs for the kids (and adults) to pat. The guinea pigs sit in baskets; you may sit beside them
    • Trestle tables are 180 cm long × 90cm wide, with a white plastic or raw timber top. You are welcome to bring tablecloths.
    • Hay bales are 90 cm long × 45cm wide × 40 cm high, and can comfortably seat two adults or three children.
    • Other tables and chairs at the Farm are not for hire or use for birthday parties
  • Face Paining
    • Children over the age of two can have their faces painted.
    • Children must be able to sit unassisted in the artist's chair (with the exception of a physical disability).
    • If a child does not consent to getting their face painted, or appears to be distressed, they will not be painted.
    • No child or adult with a known allergy to face paint, visible signs of a contagious illness (runny nose, irregular cough etc.) or contagious skin condition will be painted.
  • Food
    • We wholeheartedly reccommend the excellent catering packages offered by our good friends at the Farm Cafe.
    • You're welcome to bring your own food and drinks or hire a third-party caterer.
    • Please note, we maintain a strict ban on alcohol during farm hours.
    • We do not offer cooking facilities or food storage.
    • Waste and recycling bins are provided.
  • Weather
    • Melbourne weather can be unpredictable! We recommend all guests bring sensible shoes, a jacket, sunscreen, a hat or an umbrella as necessary.
    • There is no alternative undercover space for parties. The Barn is a public space open to all guests and can't be used for private parties.
    • If temperatures top 30℃, animal welfare concerns necessitate that we cancel Meet the Guinea Pigs sessions. You will receive a refund for this portion of the booking.
    • We don't offer refunds on marquee bookings, face painting or party wagon rental due to weather conditions.
    • Above 35℃ all animal activities will be cancelled, Farm-wide.
