Thu, 5 Nov, 10:30am - 2pm ACDT

Description

We encourage Limestone Coast dairy farmers to join us on Thursday 5 November for the first workshop of the Farm Smarter – Preparing Your Dairy Business for a Changing Climate program, focusing on reducing fertiliser costs through smarter nutrient management.

With rising input costs continuing to impact farm profitability, this workshop will explore how dairy effluent can be better managed and utilised as a valuable on-farm resource.

Drawing on findings from a recent Limestone Coast Dairy Effluent Sampling Trial, farmers will explore the nutrient and economic value of effluent, nutrient budgeting, fertiliser replacement opportunities and potential cost savings.

The workshop will also cover practical effluent nutrient recovery, methane reduction and improved on-farm practices

Through interactive activities and discussions with Rick Jordan (Agronomist – Rick Jordan & Associates / Gambier Seeds) and John Elferink (SADA), participants will gain practical insights and tools to support more informed nutrient and effluent management decisions on farm.

Limestone Coast Region- Farm address TBC.

The exact farm address will be provided to registered participants closer to the workshop date.
