Event description

Join Tweed Shire Council's Sustainable Agriculture Program as we walk and talk our way across the Waldron's egg and cattle farm at Limpinwood (just outside Tyalgum) in Northern New South Wales. You will hear the Waldron's farming story and spend some time:

  • Learning how they set up their free-range egg production business - Limpinwood Layers
Limpinwood Layers (@limpinwoodlayers) • Instagram photos and videos

  • Erosion control works on Hopping Dicks Creek.
  • Discussing current farming issues and opportunities with other farmers and Council's Sustainable Agriculture Program.
  • Post-walk lunch at the Tyalgum General Store (cost of lunch is not included).

All local farmers are welcome.

Please no dogs or other pets. This is a working farm and contains Maremma protector dogs.

Please follow simple biosecurity measures such as clean clothing and footwear and make sure your vehicle is free of foreign materials and seed before entering the property.

Tweed Shire Council's Farm Walk & Talks typically occur on the first Thursday of every month (this being a Wednesday exception!). For a few hours each month we showcase a local farm and the sustainability initiatives and environmental challenges that the landholders are tackling. So join us for a chance to network with other farmers and find out about some of the great projects and innovations that are local farmers are embarking on.
