Event description

a delightful afternoon at Fat Wombat Farm of original acoustic music is guaranteed set amongst the snow gums of the high country of the Central West NSW.

We encourage you to bring a blanket or chair and a picnic, bottle of wine , a hat and some warm clothes (just in case as Yetholme is notorious for being a bit nippy).

    GENNI KANE & JON WILBY

Genni Kane has been writing and performing her original songs for over 40 years. Jon Wilby has been playing instruments with strings for just as long. Together they have played at the National Folk Festival, Cobargo Folk Festival, Folk by the Sea, Illawarra Folk Festival, Dorrigo Folk & Bluegrass Festival and more.

In 2017, Genni released her critically acclaimed solo album 'Selfies' which was pretty much a collection of songs about herself! This was followed by ‘Songs from the Kitchen Table’, a collection of songs written about life from her sunny kitchen table in a small village in Central West NSW.

After a lifetime of playing the sideman, Jon Wilby has recently discovered his voice as a songwriter. His songs are clever, raw, and funny. He is the master of the parody, but also gets into the nitty gritty of life.

CATE MCCARTHY & MICK MOFFITT play a mix of original and traditional Bluegrass and Roots music. The combination of gutsy vocal harmonies and exciting instrumental playing, featuring fiddle, mandolin and guitar and banjo creates a unique sound.

Mick has a passion for hard driving Bluegrass and has been playing, singing and writing for many years.

He has developed his own style of mandolin and fiddle playing influenced by the cross picking of Jesse McReynolds and the fiddle of Byron Berline.

Cate has performed in many different genres of music from Rockabilly to African and Jazz this comes through in her own unique vocal style.

Mick and Cate have played at most of the major Folk, Roots and Bluegrass Festivals and have toured extensively in Australia.

Mick and Cate moved to Yetholme near Bathurst 22 years ago and love the high country.
