A Celebration of Community, Compassion and Christmas Spirit

The Father Bob Foundation Christmas Lunch is a beloved annual tradition that brings hope, warmth, and connection to those doing it tough. Each December, St Kilda Town Hall is transformed into a festive haven — filled with music, laughter, good food, and the enduring spirit of community that Father Bob championed throughout his life.

This year’s event will feature a special live performance by Australian singer-songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke, adding a touch of magic to a day of celebration, togetherness, and joy.

A team of volunteer chefs will prepare a traditional Christmas feast — roast turkey and ham off the bone, potato gratin, roasted vegetables and gravy, finished with sticky date pudding and butterscotch sauce — served by dozens of dedicated volunteers.

For many attending, this meal represents more than food; it’s belonging, kindness, and the true meaning of Christmas.

“It tastes like Christmas,” said one guest last year. “It feels a lot more like Christmas now.”
