Wandering in the Wallum: Fauna and Flora - Wildflower Festival Walk
Event description
Join Suzanne, Rod and Ethan of Mooloolah River Landcare for an interesting morning of discovery and colour. Come wander in the wallum woodland and wet heathland looking for the wildflowers and birds that call Mooloolah River National Park home.
Meet at the roadside drop-in point for the Boronia fire trail of Mooloolah River National Park, between the Sunshine Motorway flyover and the Brightwater roundabout on Kawana Way.Â
There will be an opportunity to split into two groups.Â
The birding group will walk the approximately 5km (return) on the Boronia, Aemula and Littoralis circuit looking for the birdlife along the way. Bring your binoculars.
The wildflower group will walk approximately 3km (return) along the Boronia and Aemula trail.
A moderate level of fitness is required for both walks as the track is uneven and undulating in places. Please wear closed in shoes and a hat. Bring water, insect repellent and binoculars (for the birders). Please note there are no toilet facilities on site.
