At VantagePoint3, we have been cultivating the art of seeing others deeply for 23 years. Close friends know that we call this “particularizing a person.” Brooks is adding language that's igniting our enthusiasm for what we already love to cultivate, write about, and encourage.
As our lives and communities continue to re-calibrate and lean into what matters most in 2024, the importance of relationships is front and center. Understanding people, truly knowing people, and the wisdom to move in life's complex situations are rooted in the desire to know people well.
Brooks advocates that the ability to see someone else deeply and make them feel seen—actually to hear somebody and make them feel heard—lies at the heart of what we each crave and what our society lacks.
