Event description

Felting is one of the oldest forms of textile created by combining wool fibre with soapy water and agitation.  The soft fluffy quality of the wool makes it a pleasure to work with.

In this workshop you will create a unique felted bowl using a resist and decorate with your choice of finish with felt artist Jeanette Russell.

Materials provided. Bring a tea towel if you can and any materials/ideas that you want to include in your pieces.

Spaces are limited.

Email annette@freshgingercreative.com.au for access to discount rates for concession/hardship.

About Jeanette Russell:
Jeanette is a maker and has been felting for around five years after seeing a picture of colourful felt in a textile magazine. She flew to Melbourne to do a beginners course and was hooked.

Jeanette lives at McCracken in South Australia, with her felting studio (aka kitchen/living room) overlooking the golf course and rolling hills.  Jeanette likes to include recycled fabrics in her work mostly creating scarves, garments and art pieces. Jeanette has exhibited in the Scarf Exchange 2019 and Fiona Duthie Online Exhibition:  Separate Yet Connected 2020.  Her work can be purchased at Coral Street Artspace and the Victor Harbor Regional Art Gallery.
