February Online Conversations with Families and Friends

Event description

This is for you! These Conversations with Families and Friends sessions are for the people who support or supported a family member and or friend living with mental health and or alcohol and other drug use. We will have a range of guest speakers talking to use about a range of topics. The topics have been chosen as a result of listening to what families and friends have told us they want to hear about.

You can come along for a whole session, or just a little while. You can share, contribute, and ask questions, or you can just listen. You can use the chat to ask your questions and keep your camera off to protect your privacy and confidentiality; whatever is comfortable for you.

Still not sure if this is for you? Do you identify as someone who:

  • Lives in Tasmania
  • Is 18 years or older
  • Provides informal emotional, social, practical, financial, physical, and or mental support to a family member and or friend living with mental ill health and or alcohol and other drug use
  • Impacted by a family member's and or friend's mental ill health and or alcohol and other drug use, but not necessarily "involved"
  • Wants to feel heard, understood, and take a moment to look after themselves
  • Wants to build their capacity and confidence in their support role - whatever that support role may look like

This session is our first for the year, and to start 2023, we will be talking about "Managing Expectations" and "Setting Boundaries".
