Federal Advocacy 101-- Lunch and Learn
Event description
In response to growing uncertainty around federal funding, actions, and staffing cuts, it is more critical than ever that we advocate at the federal level to protect and grow what resources we have to address and end homelessness in Virginia. However, it can be challenging to navigate the federal political landscape and engage legislators effectively.
That’s why the Virginia Housing Alliance is dedicated to equipping you with the tools, skills, and resources needed to support and strengthen your advocacy efforts.
On June 3rd, VHA is offering a virtual Federal Advocacy 101 webinar for homeless service providers and Continuum of Care Lead Agencies throughout the Commonwealth. Samantha Wood, Senior Field Organizer at the National Alliance to End Homelessness, will also join the webinar to share a federal policy update.
Event Details:
Advocacy tips for nonprofits and recipients of federal funding
Guidance on engaging with legislators strategically
Introduction to federal legislative and budgetary processes

Attendance is free, but registration is required. The event will be recorded and made available to registrants along with supplemental materials.
