Event description

Feeling It

Get back in the driving seat of your emotional life.

Emotions can be confusing, uplifting, awkward. Like an unexpected house guest, they turn up when you least expect it and often stay longer than you would like. In a world that prioritises logic and reasoning, our emotions can often make us feel irrational. We struggle against them, bottle them up, or feel overwhelmed when they explode from within, seemingly beyond our control.

This half-day workshop is a journey through the emotional life of humans. By learning to identify our emotions and exploring their role, we can begin to change how they impact our thoughts, choices and actions in life. You will learn practical strategies to notice, shift and shape your emotions, so that you can get back in the driving seat of your emotional life.

What you will learn

  • Identify and name different emotions.
  • Understand the function and impact of emotions.
  • Apply emotion management techniques.

What you will get

  • Practical tools and exercises.
  • Further resources for continued learning.

This workshop is facilitated by Dr Jarrod White, Clinical Psychologist and will be held on site at The Mind Room.

This workshop is part of our Life Skills series. Learn practical, science-backed skills to transform the way you work, live and play. Drawing on wellbeing science, performance psychology, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and mindfulness, our workshops are designed and delivered by our highly qualified and experienced psychologists.
