Description

Somatic + Movement + Improvisation.

Feldenkrais® and Contemporary Dance Workshop. Saturday at 10am for 2.5hrs. Open to everyone, all ages invited and no experience required.

The workshop

Experience a deep dive into movement practice delivered by experts in Feldenkrais and contemporary dance. This workshop will lead you through a class of Awareness Through Movement (Feldenkrais), a method of somatic education.

Followed by a movement class built on contemporary dance and improvisation techniques. Together we will disassemble old and unhelpful habits in order to find new ways of moving, feeling and being.

Guided by:

Tobiah Booth-Remmers

My movement and teaching practice has been distilled across the length of my career, integrating a vast range of influences from different methodologies and techniques, all centred on contemporary dance.

My practice is driven by a curiosity for how we experience movement through our own individual body, and how this can lead us to grow and understand ourselves physically and emotionally.

Juan Pedro Maciel

My work brings together two complementary disciplines into a single, coherent movement ecosystem that draws on Feldenkrais and Capoeira Angola.

Feldenkrais provides the foundation of awareness and kindness, allowing the nervous system to reach new horizons. What I love most about the Feldenkrais® Method is that it creates a space for people to nurture a deeper, kinder bond with themselves. From there we blossom into movement. Capoeira Angola, my life long practice, adds the dimensions of dance, musicality, and joyful connection with others.
