Mon, 19 Oct, 3:30am - 4:45am EDT

Description

A delightful, flowing hand movement technique that will soften your hands, wrists and arms and connect to a gentle mobilising of the whole body. The movements are based on a version of a Qi Gong technique, “Swimming dragon”, but are taught with a clever, pleasing Feldenkrais approach.

The movements have been used by elite athletes for a simple, quick whole body warm-up before competing, but can be used by anybody for safe, gentle whole self-mobilising.

What will we cover?

An introduction to the principles of the Feldenkrais system of movement learning and to human biomechanics.

We will then go through a systematic exploration of movements of your hands, wrists and arms that develop into a flowing, sinuous whole body movement.

The movements will be done sitting in a chair but can also be done sitting on the floor.

The lesson is suitable for adults of all ages, all levels of fitness/unfitness. You are encouraged to do the movements at the level that is right for you and is compatible with your abilities and comfort.

What will you need?

  • A chair with a firm, flat seat
