Event description

Feminist theatre for courageous women is a playful exploration of our limitless capacity for unbounded and imaginative self-expression. In this interactive workshop, women will have an opportunity to revolutionise the way the connect with themselves and others, through acting exercises, vocal play and movement-based expression, liberating them from the constructs of patriarchy. This workshop is fun, lighthearted and will definitely make you laugh.

The workshop will be held at the brand new Soul Space Studios in Wyoming. It's a fantastic space! Full of light with an abundance of room for movement and connection. For the first hour of the workshop we will explore our birth imprints; how we were born and how it impacts our creative process. There will be time for sharing in circle, partner work, journalling and self reflection.

The second half of the workshop is where we let loose and tend to our full expression, our whole selves and our weird, through a series of exercises, through the technique of call and response.

A women who attended my presentations at the 2024 Seven Sisters Festival in Victoria said,

"That was the best thing I've done in my whole life!"

So take her word for it! Come and have a play with your full expression with a bunch of like minded women. We will all be a little nervous about being loud, big and bold at first. You will feel at home and supported in however you participate, and with how much or how contained your energy is on the day.

What to bring: Water, your journal and comfortable clothes you can move in. You might need a little face towel to wipe your brow if you get hot.

Who can attend: Young women from 16 onwards up to 70 and onwards. It's also appropriate for pregnant women. (If you are pregnant please connect with me before booking in.) The second part of the workshop will be energetic. It is not suitable for women with heart conditions or high blood pressure.
