Fencing South invites you to attend the first South Age group competitions of 2025 to be held at Claymore Swords Club in Dunedin on 18 May 2025

Eligibility:
To fence in the competition fencers must be under 20 years old on 1 January 2025. For example, if you were 12 on 1 January and turned 13 on 2 January, you are still in the U13 category all year.
Participants must be affiliated members of Fencing New Zealand who have paid their membership fee for the 2025 fencing year.

Registrations:
Standard Registration closes on Friday 16th May at 2359.

Late entry will be at the discretion of the Head DT and Head Referee.

Entry Fees

Individual Event: $25

Competition Format
--------------------------------
Individual event: One round of poules (bouts to five points) followed by direct elimination rounds (bouts to 15 points). There will be no fence-off for Third Place.
Separate gender events will run except when a minimum of six participants in a gender is not achieved, in which case a mixed event will be fenced.
If there are less than 5 entries in either the U15, U17, U20 categories, then these groups may be combined. Results will be considered separately for age group points ranking if individual competitions cannot be contended.
U13 will be fenced as a separate event. If a minimum of 6 entrants is not met, the competition will be cancelled and your entry fee will be refunded. We will endeavour to inform you as soon as possible if it looks unlikely that this competition will be going ahead.

Note: this is a New Zealand National competition so the New Zealand specific rules are in place. Not the FIE rules
Breeches are required for fencers, there are a few pairs available to borrow but please contact us in advance to make sure we can get the correct sizing and to check availability.

It is advised that packed lunches and snacks are brought to the venue for competitors to ensure they are on site whilst competing.
