Festival Feast - Cygnet Folk Festival 2025
Event description
Come and discover your Inner Zorba with a fabulous night of Greek feasting in the cabaret style setting of Carmel Hall, Cygnet. Consume sumptuous courses prepared with fresh produce mainly sourced from the Huon Valley, and served by friendly and engaging local women, drink delicious Tasmanian wines, and enjoy the good company of friends or soon to be friends as you are entertained with music by Formidable Vegetable, hosted by Costa Georgiadis! You will almost be able to imagine you are feasting on a Greek Island!
The hilariously entertaining Formidable Vegetable have a simple message of community resilience and ecological restoration which they deliver equipped with a wheelbarrow full of tasty swing funk beats (or beets), brass, string, and the ukulele of abundance. They will make you laugh and get you up dancing between courses! and, yes, of course, we WILL teach you the Zorba the Greek dance!
We have all come to know and love Costa Georgiadis, author, landscape architect, environmental educator, and television presenter. Costa is the host of ABC's Gardening Australia and previously appeared as 'Costa the Garden Gnome' in the ABC Kids program Get Grubby TV. Costa is here to launch his new book as a part of the Cygnet Folk Festival, don't miss this opportunity to spend an evening with Costa himself.
