Free Youth Mental Health First Aid Training for Bay & Basin Young People
Dates: Wed 30 September and Wed 7 October
Time: 12:00 to 2:00 pm.
Venue: St Georges Basin Uniting Church Hall, 7 Meriton Street, St Georges Basin
Presented by headspace Norwa, this 2 day training is run over two days of face-to-face training. Participants will:
Learn to recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental health challenges in adolescents
Gain practical skills to support young people experiencing mental health difficulties
Receive expert-led guidance on responding in a crisis and connecting someone to appropriate services
Suicide Prevention Australia endorses youth MHFA and equips participants with valuable skills to make a real difference in their community.
This training is open to young people from the Bay & Basin area.
Please note: This is a two-day training program, and attendance at both days is required to complete the course. Please only register if you are able to commit to attending both sessions.
Content warning: This course includes discussions of mental health challenges, self-harm, and suicide. Participants are encouraged to consider their wellbeing and access support if needed.
