Gold Coast Knights FC qualified through to the Round of 16 by defeating local SEQ opposition Holland Park Hawks, Taringa Rovers, Eastern Suburbs and Sunshine Coast Wanderers before defeating Edge Hill United in the Round of 32 in Cairns.
Melbourne Victory began their FFA Cup journey by defeating fellow A-League side Perth Glory on penalties and a last minute penalty win over Adelaide City in the Round of 32 to qualify through to this stage.
