Bat Walk | Finding Franklin Bats | October 14th 2026
Description
Come along to our first bat walk of the season here in Waiuku! 🦇
Enjoy a short walk in the spring air as we head out with our bat detectors and listen out for pekapeka moving through the area. We’ll have a kōrero about our local pekapeka, how we monitor them, and what we’ve been learning about their activity around Franklin.
📅 Wednesday 14 October 2026
🕖 7pm
📍 Patumahoe - exact location will be sent out closer to the day.
Suitable for all ages and no experience needed.
Spaces are limited, so make sure you register to secure your spot.
Pekapeka are wild animals, so sightings can never be guaranteed, but we’ll have the detectors out and hopefully hear some activity along the way.
